We will review some aspects of the so-called kinetic incompressible Euler equation and explain how it relates to two other classical models from fluid mechanics: the incompressible Euler equations with several phases and the hydrostatic Euler equations. In particular we will give an application to the Cauchy theory for the hydrostatic Euler equations.
